History of Flu and its development of vaccine reported by CDC (Center for Disease Control), which states exactly 100 hundred years ago that is in 1918 influenza spread like an epidemic in the USA. This badly affected the society and reported 675,00 deaths. The report further states that it was the worst pandemic and severely affected worldwide during this year and killed more than 50 million people.
The CDC during the last hundred years has utilized its scientific information, their best resources for its surveillance and monitoring of Flu. They have also actively rendered their service to educate and address the threat and disease burden due to influenza. Due to their effective efforts which have resulted in better management and preparedness for managing influenza. CDC is continually working along with the public health organization to address it, fill the remaining gaps and to minimize the effect of pandemic influenza within the coming year.
CDC recommends the individual to have flu vaccine by the end of October each year. This is the time when usually flu starts spreading within the community.

What is Flu?
I have taken below details on Flu from Aga Khan University & Hospital (AKUH) website. Flu is also commonly referred to as Influenza. This is more severe in intensity than the common cold.
It is difficult to differentiate between Flu and the common cold. This has been observed cold sweep in slowly whereas Flu effects suddenly with extreme severity. The child condition will worsen within two or three days after the child has been infected by the Flu virus.
Flu incidence mostly appears due to seasonal changes and mostly it appears within the Autumn season starting from mid of October.
Flu is highly contagious which means it is transmittable and spreadable within the society. Children are most affected, and they can pass from one person to the other very easily. This is mostly spread from school and child play area, where they come in contacts with the infected and affected child or children. The children get affected by inhaling the infected droplet which the child spread in the atmosphere by coughing or sneezing. Within the affected area where Flu virus is available within the atmosphere, this can affect another healthy child.
It has been observed children can transmit the infection one or two days before the onset of symptom. The child will be affected for five days to a week, and they are capable to transmit it to other children, who meet them or within an affected area.
The symptom of Flu is, having a fever of more than 100degree, dry cough, headache and body pain. Nasal congestion such as running nose difficulty in swallowing, sore throat and croaky/hoarse voice. Eyes are red and watery.
Dr. Amesh Adalja who is a specialist on infectious disease and nominated person for Theraflu in the USA. He is a Senior Scholar at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Health Security. He is also board certified in internal medicine and emergency medicine, …
He tells it is important to note that immunity has the shelf life, which means it is important to protect yourself and love ones is all dependent regarding the timing of Flu shot. The Flu shot vaccine objective is to provide immunity within the entire season, this persists and to be noted decline immunity observed with the passing time. Consider the case if one is immunized much earlier, the protection due to the vaccine may wear off with the passing of time, means the person can catch the Flu, as the season has not yet ended.
It is recommended by Dr. Adalja to have Flu vaccine in the mid of September when the Flu Shot is available.
